Mock Trial
Minimize

Academy Charter High School had an exciting run in this year’s New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s annual Mock Trial Competition. The team, led by “attorneys” Francisca Williams and Vasthie Leveille reached the third round of the competition, defeating teams from Allied Health and Sciences and Red Bank Regional before losing an extremely close match to Shore Regional High School.

The witnesses for the plaintiff were portrayed by Janeth James, Victoria Santana and Mirgline Lindort. The defense witnesses were played by Ashley Jefferson, Kendell Williams and Sheila Destinoble. Natisha Murphy, Juslyve Raoul, Sameer’ah Keith and Le’Chelle Taylor assisted as jurors and Antonio Johnson served in his annual role of Bailiff.

Noteworthy was the strong performance of two Freshman in witness roles. This bodes extremely well for the future of the Academy Charter team and probably means that Mr. Clark will once again break his annual vow that this is his last year.
